Akron Art Museum Docent Led Tour

Please join us for a docent led tour of the Akron Art Museum!  Our scheduled tour date is Friday, January 11, 2013 11:30AM - 12:30PM.  I have reserved space for lunch as well, so please bring a bag lunch to enjoy after our tour!  Below is the tour I have selected for our group:

Seder Meal 2013?

Dear Homeschoolers!

I am interested in offering a Seder Meal on my blog.  I am trying to coordinate with someone I know that is amazing and has done Seder Meals for her family for 20+ years and at a Christian school as well.  I have seen her present a Seder Meal and it was fascinating the symbolism between Judaism and Christianity.  This is not any type of commitment, just getting an idea of how many kids would be interested.  Easter is Sunday, March 31, 2013.  We would be looking at probably sometime in March for the meal.  Also, I am looking for a church that would offer space for us, preferably in the Brecksville/Independence/Fairlawn area.

Also on the program is a preview of a new work by Creative Fusion international artist Kapila Palihawanda (Artistic Director of nATANDA Dance Theatre of Sri Lanka), who blends traditional Sri Lankan dance and contemporary dance theatre. Happy Birthday Jesus Party!

Dear Fellow Homeschoolers!

  The reason that we celebrate CHRISTmas is the birth of the Baby Jesus! CHRISTmas is Jesus' Birthday! We have fun with Santa Claus and the magical world of Christmas. And that's wonderful! But just don't forget the real reason for the season - JESUS!  We are having a Birthday party for Jesus.  What child doesn't love a birthday party? This is a good way for children of all ages to learn the true meaning of CHRISTmas. We would like to have a Birthday party for Jesus every year.  Children can learn more and more as they get older what CHRISTmas is really about.     So, please come with your child(ren) to our Birthday party for Jesus. We'll have cake, ice cream, food, activities, and music, sing songs, etc. This is a great family event to start the season off right, and get you into the CHRISTmas spirit!

McKinley Museum's Halloween Party @ the Boo-seum!

6:00pm - 8:30pm 

Come to our annual Halloween party and “Trick or Treat” in the Street of Shops and Discover World.  There will also be hayrides (weather permitting), costume judging, scavenger hunt, science shows and much more!  Bring your appetite!  A hot dog supper will be available for purchase in the Museum Cafe.
