Here is a fabulous recipe I thought I would share with you. It is fast, easy and mouth watering. Today we will be sharing a meal with friends for lunch and then more friends for dinner, so thought it would be a great opportunity to make these as they have been on my radar :)
INGREDIENTS
Brownies
- ½ pound (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 1¾ cups semisweet chocolate chips, divided
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- ½ cup plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, divided
- 1½ teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
Caramel Sauce
- Make your own homemade caramel sauce, or do what I did and use caramel sauce from a jar?
- You may choose to add the caramel sauce to the batter as I did or drizzle on the top of the cooled brownies. Experimenting, I actually did a little of both. I poured the brownie batter in the pan and then added caramel sauce that I then swirled into the batter. When they came out of the oven I drizzled some on top as well.
INSTRUCTIONS
Brownies
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9 x 12 baking dish with parchment paper or butter and flour.
- Melt the butter and 1 cup of the semisweet chocolate chips in a medium bowl set over simmering water. Allow to cool for 15 minutes.
- In a large bowl, stir (do not beat) together the eggs, vanilla and sugar.
- Stir in the chocolate mixture into the egg mixture.
- Once combined, add the unsweetened cocoa powder.
- In a medium bowl, sift together ½ cup of the flour, baking powder and salt. Add to the chocolate mixture.
- Toss the remaining ¾ cup semisweet chocolate chips in the remaining 2 tablespoons of flour. Add to the chocolate mixture.
- Spread evenly in a prepared pan and bake for 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Be careful not to over bake.
- Once cooled enough to handle, drizzle caramel over baked brownies.
- Sprinkle sea salt over top, if desired. (Remember salt brings out the flavor in all foods, even desserts and chocolate)!!!
I tasted them for you and YUMMMMM!!!! They are sure to be a crowd pleaser at your next gathering ;) I encourage you to invite someone to share a meal with you. We have friends that we take turns hosting for family dinners. It is so nice to receive and invite and such a blessing to invite others. Give it a try! You'll be glad you did.
